Privacy Policy

RunnerOS is a running-coach app built by RunnerOS LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have — in plain English, because that's how we do everything.
The short version
- Your coaching runs on your phone. Plans, paces, and predictions are computed on-device.
- We collect the minimum needed to run your account and sync your data.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
- You can delete everything, any time, right inside the app.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and a password (managed by Firebase Authentication).
- Training data you enter: your profile (name, age, level, weekly mileage, personal records), goals and race dates, workout history, and post-run check-ins (effort/RPE, pain and pain location, fatigue, sleep, completion), fitness-check results, and journal entries.
- Group runs: group name, invite code, your display name, votes, RSVPs, attendance, and kudos — visible only to members of your private group.
- Videos (optional): run-form clips you choose to record or upload, stored privately in your account for future form analysis.
- Usage analytics: to understand which features are used and improve the app, we collect in-app usage events — such as which screens you open and which features you use, along with basic device and app-version information. This is product analytics only; it is used in aggregate to make the app better and is never used to identify you to advertisers.
- What we do NOT collect: advertising identifiers, precise location tracking, your contacts, or background sensor data. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your data.
How your data is used
- To generate your training plan, paces, predictions, scores, and monthly report cards — computed on your device.
- To back up your data so you can restore it when you sign in on a new phone.
- To measure how the app is used — which features and screens are popular, and where people run into trouble — so we can improve it. This uses aggregated, privacy-respecting product analytics, not advertising trackers.
- To power group-run coordination between you and your invited group members.
- If you use the optional AI coaching briefing, a summary of your recent training (including your self-reported effort, pain, fatigue, and sleep) is sent to our server and processed by an AI provider to generate your recommendation. It is used only to produce your briefing — never for advertising, and we choose providers that do not train their models on this data.
Where it's stored
Data is stored locally on your device and, when you're signed in, in Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, and Cloud Storage) in the United States, protected by encryption in transit. Access is restricted to your account.
Deleting your data
In the app: Settings → "Reset app (delete my data)". This permanently deletes your training data from the device and from our cloud storage, and signs you out.
By email: send a deletion request to support@runneros.ai from your account email and we'll remove your account and data within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR and California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email support@runneros.ai and we'll honor them. We don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of selling.
Children
RunnerOS is not directed at children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Health disclaimer
RunnerOS provides fitness coaching, not medical advice. Self-reported pain and fatigue check-ins inform your training plan but are not a medical assessment. Consult a professional for injuries or health conditions.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and note it in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
